Homemade Curd Balls as from the Bakery

Curd balls are small pastry balls made of a tough batter with curd. The balls were deep fried in hot oil and then turned still warm in sugar, cinnamon or powdered sugar.

Ingredients for about 50 small Curd Balls:

  • 250 grams of flour
  • 250 grams of curd
  • 125 grams of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
  • ½ sachet of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Sugar for turing the done curd balls
  • About 1 liter of oil for deep-frying

Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Mixer
  • Sieve
  • Pastry bag with large round nozzle
  • Scissors
  • Pot or wok for deep-frying
  • Bowl with sugar to turn the done curd ball
  • Ladle
  • Kitchen paper

Homemade Curd Balls - Step 5…mix all ingredients using a mixer for about 2 – 3 minutes until white and creamy…

Homemade Curd Balls - Step 7…and give it a quick mix…

Homemade Curd Balls - Step 8…next sift ½ sachet of baking powder…





Homemade Curd Balls - Step 9…& 250 grams of flour and give to the batter…

Homemade Curd Balls - Step 10…mix using a mixer…

Homemade Curd Balls - Step 11…until you got a tough batter, hard tearing off the spoon…

Homemade Curd Balls - Step 12…now fill the batter into a pastry bag with large round nozzle…

Homemade Curd Balls - Step 13…heat up a bout 1 liter of oil for deep-frying…

Homemade Curd Balls - Step 14…once the oil is hot enough press out small batter portions with the pastry bag (about 2 – 3 centimeters long), cut of with scissors & let gently slide into the hot oil…

Homemade Curd Balls - Step 15…deep-fry them for about 4 – 5 minutes until golden brown…

Homemade Curd Balls - Step 16…lift out the done curd balls using a ladle & allow to drain on paper towels…

Homemade Curd Balls - Step 17…turn them still warm in sugar…
