Ketchup is a tomato sauce, consisting of sugar, tomato paste, vinegar, salt and spices. It is offered in various variations and flavors. Ketchup is the ideal dip for homemade fries along with mayonnaise.

Ingredients for about 1 bottle Homemade ketchup:

  • 300 grams sieved tomatoes
  • 150 grams light syrup
  • 100 milliliters cider vinegar
  • 50 milliliters water
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper

Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Small saucepan
  • Funnel
  • Bottle or suitable screw top jar for filling

Homemade Ketchup - Step 1Give all ingredients listed above into a mixing bowl…

Homemade Ketchup - Step 2…& stir together with a whisk until well combined…

Homemade Ketchup - Step 3…then transfer the ketchup mixture to a saucepan…

Homemade Ketchup - Step 4…& bring to a boil while stirring…

Homemade Ketchup - Step 5…once the ketchup mixture starts simmering stop stirring & allow the ketchup to simmer over low to medium heat with the lid half-open for about 30 minutes…





Homemade Ketchup - Step 6…give the ketchup a quick stir from time to time to avoid scorching at the pot bottom…

Homemade Ketchup - Step 7…after 30 minutes remove the pot from stove…

Homemade Ketchup - Step 8…& transfer the ketchup still hot with a funnel into a bottle or a suitable screw top jar…

Homemade Ketchup - Step 9…seal & allow to cool…

Homemade Ketchup - Step 10…then serve along with homemade fries!
